Sizes & Paper Options
Our booklets and brochures are available in a range of sizes, from A6 to A3, but why not think outside the box? We’ve produced brochures and booklets in all shapes and sizes, if you need some inspiration we’d be happy to give you some ideas for the best and most effective solution for your project.
We can provide any thickness from 80gsm through to 350gsm – if you are unsure what the best weight would be for your project, just give us a call. All of our paper is carbon neutral and recycled options are available.
Silk
Silk coated paper has a smooth feel with a discreet surface sheen. It offers excellent ink to paper contrast, and printed colours appear distinct and clear.
Gloss
Gloss coated paper has a shiny surface and very smooth finish. Colour is sharp and stands out well. Ink dries quickly and the need for lamination is reduced.
Premium Uncoated
Our premium uncoated paper is absorbent. Printed inks appear flatter due to this absorbency, and the paper has a soft finish.
Binding Options
Perfect bound book printing is a great option for documents from 28 up to 700* printed pages. No wonder it’s so popular!
If your cover is a solid colour or high coverage of ink, please opt to laminate your cover during the instant quote process – we recommend 300gsm silk with matt lamination one side.
Saddle Stitched
Saddle-stitched refers to a very popular booklet binding technique that uses staples to hold together folded sheets of paper. at the spine It’s the perfect solution for magazines, brochures, booklets and catalogues from 8-pages up to 48-pages (depending on paper thickness) and is the most commonly used binding solution.
Perfect Bound
Perfect bounding is a great option for documents with a larger number of pages that cannot be stitched. Suitable for documents of between 40 and about 700 pages depending on paper weight, this binding method is where the pages and cover are glued together at the spine with a strong yet flexible adhesive to provide a smooth and stylish finish.
Wiro-Binding
Wiro binding involves stacking the pages together and punching holes along the edge. A metal coil or wire is then fed through the holes and clamped closed. Wiro binding, also known as coil or spiral binding, is often used for reports, manuals, workbooks or reference books because the open document lies perfectly flat or can be fully folded back around.It’s extremely flexible and commonly used for documents of between 8 and 360 printed pages, and a number of different colour wires are available to compliment your brochure/booklet design.
Folding
For projects with a smaller number of pages, sometimes a simple folding solution replaces the need for any binding at all! Simple and effective, there are a number of ways to fold a document – half fold, roll fold, z fold and gatefold; to create something that is impactful and interesting.

Paper isn’t just paper any more! If you are looking for something a little out of the ordinary there are a multitude of weird and wonderful options to make your brochure cover stand out. Practically anything you can imagine, from metallic reflective material, through to faux leather, crocodile skin or even bark tactile stocks are out there in the world… Whatever your concept, we can find a solution!
Lamination
There are different types of lamination and it is most useful with solid colours or images to enhance their vibrancy or where you want to protect your printed documents. Matt lamination gives a soft, contemporary effect. Gloss lamination gives a higher quality shine finish than gloss card. Lamination. soft-touch lamination has a soft, peach-like texture and gives any piece a really premium feel.
Spot UV Varnish
Spot UV involves a clear, shiny coating applied to specific areas of artwork to create an eye-catching contrast, making it a luxury choice for brochure covers. Although it can be applied to the whole card, the ‘Spot’ element means picking out a particular element of the design to give a great contrast – fr example your logo, or the title of your brochure.
Embossing/Debossing
Embossing is where an element of a design is raised from the page. Debossing is where an element is pressed down into it. Embossing and debossing can offer both a tactile and visual appeal to your print. If you are looking to create a quality impression then embossing or debossing will help your print both ooze quality and make a statement.
Foiling
Foiling is a finishing technique where heat and pressure are used to bind a thin film of metal (foil) to paper or card. Foiling is generally used to create a memorable and high-quality finish and is available in a wide range of colours (not just gold and silver!) It’s applied to specific sections of a design rather than the whole design, meaning you can use it to highlight text or logos against a contrasting matt background.
Laser Cutting
Laser Cutting involves using laser machinery, to cut your print to your chosen design. The laser beam then burns through the surface, leaving a high-quality and accurate finish which is perfect for super-intricate designs. If you are looking to make an extra impact with your cover, then this certainly will enhance any design.
Annual Reports
For print that is going to be handled by your customers (such as business cards or brochures) the use of soft touch lamination can add an extra touch of luxury. With its peach-like texture rather than just appealing to one of your senses (sight) you’re now appealing to two (sight and touch). Alternatively, a simple matt or gloss laminate on the cover of a booklet can change the look of your print in a very economic way.
